Numbering Appendices versus Annexes

I am able to number my appendices to include the chapter name and page number
by selecting the Heading 7 style. I need to include the chapter name for the
annexes. I have attempted to select Heading 8 style by following the
recommendation of Shauna Kelly. I am unable to get this to work.

Utilizing Format Styles and Formatting, I set the numbering and formatting to
meet my requirements. I also checked "automatic update". When I configured
the Page Numbering in the footer, I received an error message stating "There
is no chapter number to include in the caption or page number."

You'll need three different caption labels: one for the main body of the
document, one for the appendix and one for the annex. You'll also need a section
break before the first appendix and then again before the first annex, and
you'll have to unlink the headers (or footers, depending on where you want the
chapter/page number). For more, see
