Numbering copies during print

I would like to increment number a cover page when I print the
document. I need to print 100 copies of a cover page and they need to
be numbered 500 - 599. I've looked at the SEQ and LISTNUM fields but
those seem to work incrementally throughout a document, not increment
the field during a multi-copy print cycle. Any suggestions?

Thx!

You can do this through data merge. In the data doc set up a table
with one column with the numbers 1 through nn; actually they can start
and stop anyplace, including decimal points or whatever. In your
content doc, place the merge field on the first page where you want
the number to appear. Then run data merge. I use an old version of
Word for OS X, so cannot tell you the details for the newer versions,
but in the old version you would use the Data Merge Manager in the
Tools menu. It's probably something similar in the newer versions.
Data Merge is really cool and you can do a lot of things with it. Some
people use Excel for the data source, but a Word table should do fine
for smaller merge jobs.
