"Numbering" feature hangs Word

I have a user that when he tries to uses Numbering, it hangs the application
and the winword process take 95-99% of the CPU.

We are running Word 2002 SP3.

I have tried some of the recommended fixes including deleting:
\\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Word\Data

I also deleted and reinstalled printer drivers.

I tried to do the same thing on a different machine with the same file and
it does the same thing.

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
