Numbering format for the Table which has 5 row's and 2 columns

Hi,

Can u help in in solving this. I have a table consist
of 5 rows and 2 columns and i wan't the numbering in such
a way that in the first column of the first row i started
with number 1 and fill the content over there and in the
second colum of the first row i had inserted the values
and press enter and without getting the number i will add
some thing and when i goes to the previous colum and
press enter it shoule leave the space and come into the
nxt line of the same which was in the second column

Can any one help in this
