Alan

hello

a question for a Friend of mine..hes wondering if theres
any way to Automatically number his invoices e.g. invoice
0001, invoice 0002 etc instead of numbering them
individually?. (we are both Newbees to computing)
Any help greatly Appreciated.

Hi Alan

yes, but it requires a VBA solution (ie a bit of code). How is he
generating the invoices themselves now? is he using a template or opening
an old invoice & typing over the top of it and saving it?

give us a bit more detail and we should be able to come up with something
for you.

Cheers

Hello Julie
thanks for your reply.
yes he is typing over an old invoice .uses the same
one,and saving it .
as he types in the new invoice, he numbers it and saves.
he says its just a wee bit frustrating having to go into
where he saves his invoices to see what number he's at .
sorry if it sounds all a bit vague.he is also very new to
computing.
if thats not enough information can you please let me
know how much more you want and i will contact him. but
thats about all he does.
thankyou very much again for your reply

Hi K

thats why i do it :) i often find things that are interesting but for some
reason i can't locate the original question and its hard to bring it all
together ... but as you can see the original question isn't needed in this
response so i "snipped!" it :)
