Numbering lists do not maintain block style

When I use numbering it indents only the first lines and then move
second line over to the left in stead of keeping same indent

Check the "Style for following paragraph" (in the Modify Style dialog box) for
the paragraph style you are using with numbering.

Or are you saying that only the indentation changes, but the numbering remains?
In that case, click to select the paragraph number. Word selects all numbers
belonging to the same list (or all numbers at the same level of the list, if
this is a multilevel list). Right-click and choose Adjust List Indents from the
context menu. Make the desired changes in the dialog. For more on the available
