Numbering Not Working - Word 2003

Our office is switching from WordPerfect to Word, and since there is no F7
indent, I modified an outline numbered list from Bullets and Numbering so we
could have text followed by indented text. For example:

1. asldkjt ;laksd tj;laksd tl;askj[l;tk;lkasdjtlkasj tl;asdkt
lskdjt ldksj t;lskdt j;aslk tl;ask tl;askjl;tkas tjlaskd t
A. jsldkjt; akldj ta;lskt jl;sdk tjl;asdk tj;aslt t dlk
ajdskltj;asldjktalsktjl;asdktjaskl

The indent after "1" works, but after pressing Enter and Tab to go to the
next level, instead of getting the "A," I only get a tab.

I forwarded my document to two other people, and on their computers the
modified outline numbered list worked fine. One was using Word 97, the other
was using Word 2003. I am using Word 2003 with SP1 (11.6359.6360). Could
there be something in the service pack that keeps my outline from working
correctly? If not, does anyone know why it isn't working?

In Word 2003, go to the AutoFormat As You Type tab of Tools | AutoCorrect
Options and check the box for "Set left- and first-indent with tabs and
backspaces." To make sure that your outline-numbered list is as unbreakable
as possible, assign a different style to each level as described in
