Numbering Pages

This is getting me crazy, and could be very simple, happen that I have a
document with several pages and I set Page numbers automatically and looks
like is done and fine, I save it, close it and when I open it again I have a
different numbering like this
Before Close
1 of 6
2 of 6
...
6 of 6

After close and oopen it again I got this
1 of 1
2 of 1
...
6 of 1

Could somebody help me to get this right.

Sometimes just switching once or twice from Print Layout view to Normal
view and back again will update the page numbers.
