Numbering

Suzanne-

On page 16 the secion is 3. The document belong to
another user. When the document was sent to me it did not
have any headers and footers.

How do you suggest that I handle this 200+ document?

Okay, now we're cooking. On page 16, View | Header and Footer. This puts you
in the header pane. If the page number is in the footer, click the Switch
Between Header and Footer button to get to the footer pane. Press the Same
as Previous button to turn it on. Word will ask if you want to delete the
header/footer in that section (which is at this point empty) and link to the
one in the previous section. Say yes. Now press the Show Next button to go
to the next section, if any. Make sure that the Same as Previous button is
on in that and any subsequent sections so that all the sections are linked;
you should then have a page number on every page.
