Numbering

I am running Office XP 2002.

I have developed styles for outlined numbering. Suddenly,
I cannot go to next level. I can stay on the same level.
When I hit the tab key - it creates a tab instead of going
to the next level. I have checked the outline format and
my limited expertise did not see any thing. I tried
different combination on the options without any luck.

What is happening? I am using Microsoft Internet Keyboard.
The reason I said that because this keyboard has lot of
bells and whistes. I am just wondering if certain key was
pressed and that decoupled the tab key.

I will really appreciate the help. I am stuck now.
