Numbers default format in Excel.

O

Oscar Recio Cant?

I just bought Office 2004 for MAC in SPANISH. When typying numbers in
Excel, the decimal point is a comma and the thousands separator is a
point. I looked into the International in System Preferences and found
the usual formatting for numbers (comma as thousands separator and
point as a decimal point). Where can I tell Excel to use the American
Format for numbers?

Thanks

XL takes default number formats from the system's International
settings. When I choose the comma as a decimal separator, XL displays
appropriately.

Note: XL must be closed and restarted for that setting to take effect.

Does this not happen for you when you customize your number format in
the System Preferences/International pane?
