numbers in part of document-help!

Hello,

I'm formatting a book using MS Word 2008 for Mac. In this book, I want
page numbering to start on p. 12 (the first page of the text) and end
on p. 131 (the last page of the text). But I can't find *any* way to
do this simple function in Word. If I create a section, it begins page
numbers at 12, but also inserts page numbers before (in the front
matter of the book). How do I get Word to only put page numbers in
part of a document?

While in the 2nd section's Header/Footer take a look on the Formatting
Palette in the H/F group & remove the "Link to previous" check. You'll
probably have to then delete the H/F from sec. 1 and/or may have to reinsert
the page numbering in the 2nd section.
