NUMBERS SHOWING DIFFERENT AFTER TYPE

TYPING NUMBERS IN A CELL
WHEN I GO TO ANOTHER CELL THE NUMBERS APPEAR DIFFERENT AND WITH + SIGNS LIKE
THIS 5.63209E+11
HOW DO I CLEAR IT ?

Hi,

First and most important tap the caps lock key to stop shouting and then try

Format|Cell|number and select number

For noremal numbers, medium & small, make sure the format is not scientific:

Format > Cells... > Number > General

For BIG NUMBERS like: 1234567890123

Excel will default to scientific unless you format as Custom > 0000000000000

If you type 12 and the cell shows:
1.20E+01
Then the display is scientific. To fix, select the cell and pull-down:
Format > Cells... > Number > General

Click on the the Format option in the top toolbar (in xl2003 and below)
Then click on Cell
Then click on the Number tab
Choose Number from the category on the left hand side.
Choose details the way you like (decimals and 1000's separator)

Number, and zero decimal places, if that's what you want, and make sure that
your cell is wide enough to take the number or else it will change back to
scientific.
