I have a excel spreadsheet that I import into a front end/ back end database.
I import thru a macro (transfer spreadsheet). We are using 2002 versions of
Access and Excel. Now the back end Access table we are importing to has only
TEXT fields (with more than enough space to fit the info), except for the
auto number ID. When I run the macro, recently, I am getting the dreaded
numeric field overflow (NFO). There are no calculations, just import into
text fields. I can call the excel cells text, and I still get the NFO. Now if
I paste the data into the table, I don’t have any glitches.
How can I still have a NFO if there are no dates, calculations and I have a
text-into-text transfer. Are there any fixes, just short of using a hammer.
Or is there another way to get this info in at the click of a button. The
person who does this is intimidated by computers, so we need to make it a
push-button “importâ€. It’s worked well for so long NOW we have occasional
glitches!!!???!!!
