Numeric key pad inoperative in Excel

Processor: Power PC

I just purchased Office 2004 and installed on a Mac Mini 1.5. with a new Macally IKeySlim keyboard. The 10-key numeric keypad does not work when using Excel. Keys act as four arrows plus page up, page down etc. In Word, Adobe, and on-line forms the numbers work correctly. Keyboard works correctly when connected to old G3 with Office 2000. Tech Support at Macally says it is a problem with settings in Excel. Anyone know what I might do to correct problem.

While working properly with EXCEL, suddenly I noticed the same problem and I have not been able to fix it in anyway.
If you have found a solution, will you please send it to me?

No one ever offered any suggestion so I finally removed and reinstalled EXCEL. Key pad worked fine after that. Hope it works for you as well.
