Numerous Jobs (Slipping Tasks)

We have over 130 projects in Project Server and we want to run a report for
all projects to show what tasks are behind. Is there a way to do that
without opening all of the projects?

You could open all 130 projcts in a temporary master project in Microsoft
Project Professional and then apply the Slipping Tasks filter. This would
be very laborious and time consuming, however. There is no default way to
perform the same thing in Project Web Access. You might want to consider
using SQL Server Reporting Services, instead, and create your own custom
reports to show this information. Hope this helps.

The other thing you can do is to create "Status Lights" in your Enterprise
Global.

You will have to create a formula with graphical indicators, for example:

If RED, then task is overdue,
If YELLOW, then remaining WORK is greater than [Finish-Today()]
If GREEN then task is on time or is comnplete.

Make sure you roll up the formula to Summary Tasks.

And add the Enterprise Task Code to the PWA Project view...

However, with this method, even one little insignificant task being late
could flag the rolled up project sSummary in the PWQA Project view to show it
being not on time.

Rick,

We have made the view with the red, yellow and green lights. However, if
the project has not been updated, it will not show the "red light" to show
that the project has a task behind. It only works when the PMs update their
projects to show that they are behind the baseline.

Thank you,

If your PM's are not updating their projects, then that is a management
issue rather than a problem with Project Server. Hope this helps.

We understand that there could be a management issue for the projects that
have not been updated, and we are handling that. But, I still need to know
the specific tasks that are slipping for every project, without having to
open all the projects at once. When I open all of them at the same time, it
prevents others from working in each project.

Thanks,

When you create the master project, open the subprojects Read/Only. Or you
can also use SQL Server Reporting Services. Hope this helps.
