Nutty Templates

My very large document has just quadrupled in size -
presumably because I have made some mistakes with my
templates and style formatting. This happens when I get
lazy. I can fix it by cutting and pasting to a new
document as Text Only - but is there any other way? This
will take me hours! Help SOOOOOO appreciated

There are a number of reasons for excessive file size, including:

1. Fast Saves: Disable this at on the Save tab of Tools | Options.

2. Preview Picture: Clear the check box on the Summary tab of File |
Properties.

3. Versions (File | Versions): Make sure "Automatically save version on
close" is not turned on.

4. Revisions (Tools | Track Changes):
Highlight Changes: Make sure "Highlight changes on screen" is turned on.
Accept/Reject Changes: If "Accept All" or "Reject All" is available then
revisions are present; accept or reject all changes, then turn Track Changes
off.

5. Embedded True Type fonts (Tools | Options | Save); embedding fonts should
be avoided wherever possible.

6. Embedded graphics: When feasible, it is preferable to link the graphics.

7. Document corruption: See

.
Templates and styles get tricky.

When you copy and paste text with styles, those styles
come into your document. I try to make sure there are no
styles in the text I paste into my documents.

You can edit any of the styles by selecting format menu,
styles, and modify.

You might have to delete unwanted styles and reapply the
ones you want. To clear a messy area, select the text and
select the normal style; then, reapply the style you
want.

I hope this helps,
KC
