Hi,
I'd like to know whether it's possible to have each folder shown in
bold when they contain unread messages (moved by a rule for example)
with a number of unread messages?
Just did some testing with Oulook 2007.
Created a rule to move all incoming messages sent from a test account
to a "Misc" folder within another folder called "External".
When getting a message and applying the rule, Outlook opens the
"External" folder (what I already dislike) and then shows the "Misc"
folder in bold and sufixed with "(1)"
Now if I collapse the "External" folder, then I have no way to know
that it contains unread messages. Should also be bold with "(1)" next
to it (or total of unread messages in subfolders).
I had this in shareware apps and in the ugly Lotus Notes at work.
From what I heard, it works like this in Outlook 2003. But what about
2007?
I don't want to go to the "Search Folder" and check the "Unread
messages". This one takes forever to search for unread messages (since
I am under XP and indexing doesn't work -- no! not even with
DesktopSearch since this one is not usable under XP...) and also
doesn't really show the tree structure.
Any way to have (all collapsed!)
Inbox(17)
Misc
External (12) <-- not automatically expanded
Trash
and when manually expanding External, see something like
External
|- Misc (8)
|- Trips
|- Family (1)
|- Expenses (2)
|- Car
|- Running (1)
Thanks for any help.
Sincerely,
Steve JORDI
