O2k3 exch03-setup error "The Name could not be resolved. The bookmark is not valid"

Hi people.

I have just setup my machine and installed winxp sp2 then office2k3 then sp1
,went to setup my exchange account in outlook and i recived the following
msg

The name could not be resolved. The bookmark is not valid.

Outlook then unloads

Prior to this error dialog box i get the option to set my server and mailbox
details in the older looking dialog box rather than the setup wizard on
initial launch.

I have turned off the windows firewall to no avail.

i can ping the exchange server and connect to my mailbox via owa and
outlook2003 on another machine.

Does anyone know what is causing this?

this is now appearing on all machines
"The bookmark is not valid" when going to the gal

Talking to my self i know.

but the fix to this was simply that the default global address list was
deleted.

Recreated the list and rebuilt in rup job done all is well again.
