Object Variable or With block variable not set

I am trying a work-around to get my subform to gotonewrecord when the "New
Record" button is hit on the navigation button. Work-around: create my own
button with code-behind to get new record for both form and subform. Just a
little background.

So, I want to create a new button. Click on Command Button icon, an error
comes up "Object Variable or With block variable not set". I actually have
tried to create other objects on a form (though I don't remember what all the
other ones are) that I get this same error. I have to restart my computer
every day and it occurs every time I try to create a button and some other
objects. This gets really annoying as things could be much easier if I had
the wizards available to me.

Anyone know what the deal is, or, more importantly, how I could go about
fixing it?
