Objects from Drawing Toolbar Crash Word 2003

When I attempt to use any objects on the Drawing Toolbar,
Word crashes. This did not happen in Word 2002. Has
anyone else experienced this problem or have a solution?
(I am current in my Office Updates.)

No, this is not a common problem.

Have you tried Help/Detect and Repair?

If that doesn't help, if you hold down the CTRL key when
starting Word does that make any difference?

How about renaming Normal.dot to NormalOLD.dot, then
restarting Word and testing in the new document that
appears?

If you still have no luck, what happens if you boot Windows
in SAFE mode?

that i snot quite correct.

My company is having a seriosu problem with Word2002 crashing when
using the Drawing toolbar !

Microsoft what's happening ?

Sorry I can not help with you 2003 but it is obviously related.

I tried all of your suggestions, but Word still crashes
when trying to insert ANYTHING from the Drawing Toolbar.
Is this a bug in Word 2003? Can you suggest any way
around this?

This is NOT a bug in Word 2003. I've never seen it happen,
and I've been working with Word 2003 for well over a year
(beta testing). Nor have I seen any reports in the
newsgroups. It's almost certainly a configuration conflict
on your system...

But if even booting WINDOWs in SAFE mode didn't work, I'm at
a loss as to what to recommend next. I certainly don't want
to tell you to reformat your machine and reinstall all your
software...
