Hi Marco,
is there any way to obtain type libraries for Office 97?
I want to create an application that automates Word and Excel. It should
work with all Office versions from 97 and newer.
The way to get the type library is to install Office 97. You can't program
(and TEST) against a Microsoft Office application without the application
being installed.
Also note that, depending on what your application should DO, it might not
be possible to program against Word 97 and higher. Keep in mind that this
would mean the functionality you're working with would not have changed
across FOUR versions of Word, over a period of roughly eight years. Very
simple things - that you could also do with RTF or HTML - would certainly
be possible. But if you want anything complex, you'll need to check your
work against ALL versions to make sure the code is compatible.
