OCR Error Messgae

Hello,
I have a Dell 944 all in one printer, when I am trying to scan a document in
Word I get the following error message. An OCR application is provided for
you on your CD in the OCR directory. Select okay to cancel scan operation,
install your OCR software and try to scan again. I am not understanding this
question, I do not have a OCR CD. Is this something that should already be
in the MS Word Software?

I'm sure the message is asking about the OCR program that is on the CD that came
with your all-in-one printer. Its either that or you do not have Document
Imaging that comes with office installed.

No, it is not part of Word. You should have gotten a CD of software with the
all-in-one. If it wasn't included, call Dell.

There is some rudimentary OCR software with Office, although it isn't
installed by default. Rerun the Office installation, check the box for a
custom install, and look for the Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI)
feature. You'd be much better served by using a more capable OCR program,
though.
