ODBC Access-DB connection save-problem with the last DB-record

H

Helga

I have a mailmerge with fields from an ODBC Access-DB and Word.
The DB has now more then 500 record.
When I save the word-Document with the last record,
the connection with the last record will not show again, when I open
the Word-Document again,
but it is connected with the record number 1.
All is allright, if it is not the last record but the record before,
the Word-Dokument opens after saving correctly with the connected
record number before.
This wrong behavior was first appearing, after the DB has more than
500 records.

Is there a bug in Word when mailmerging with an ODBC-DB, that has more
than 500 records?

Hi Helga,

Which versions of Word and Access are involved, here?

Hi Helga,

I've never heard of this problem, that I can recall. I'm trying to find
something out, but even if I get a confirmation that it is a problem, I
doubt it will get fixed for Word 2002.

Best I can suggest,
given that you know of a way to get around it, would be to use a macro
that fires when the document is closed that will reset the active
record. This might work

Sub AutoClose
'Below should all be on one line, except "End Sub"
ActiveDocument.MailMerge.DataSource.ActiveRecord = wdPreviousRecord
End Sub
