how come when i link a ms sql server 2000 table from my access 97 database
it says odbc call failed?
i get that message right when i try to open the table in datasheet mode
but if i create a query and select only a few columns it works fine
but if i select all columns it doesn't work. but if i re arange the columns
in the query i have goten it to list them all. its very strange
it seems random
access 2002 works fine. how come my access97 won't work correctly?
i have updated mdac to 2.8 still doesn't work
anyone have any ideas at all?

.
The odds are you are using ADO on your SQL server and
are trying to get to it with DAO, whick is what 97's
default is

i can select the data if i limit a select statment to about 30 columns from
my table. my table has about 100 columns in it. when i use access xp to link
to my sql server table it works fine selecting all the columns. how come
access 97 fails? is there some kind of update that will fix this? i have
access 97 sp2 installed.
