I have a tiny database with a few dozen records on an SQL
server provided by my ISP. I get to it with a cable modem
using Access 2000. But, even though my database is tiny,
there
is always a time lag as my request to the database "wakes
up" the server. Is there a faster way for me to do this
(staying with my Access program, etc.)? Does the speed
depend upon the processing speed and/or size of the ISP's
server, and are there questions I should be asking that
would determine whether my ISP is using up-to-date
equipment? Is my NAV/NIS somehow interfering?
Thank you for any input.
