ODBC driver manager (Win98 / O2K0

I have been suffering from recurrent problems with Outlook
2000 (eg I can't delete any emails!), so used the Detect &
Repair option.

The program started to run the Office 2000 disk, then came
up with an error message: "Error 1916. Error installing
ODBC driver manager, ODBC error 0. Contact your support
personnel." It then tells me that MS Office 2000 SR-1
Premium setup failed.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I can't find
anything resembling the error message on the MS site, so
would be grateful if anyone could give some advice.

Apologies also if this is the wrong group to use!
