ODBC error "too many fields defined" when importing to Outlook

I am tring to import an excel spreadsheet into my outlook contacts folder. it
tells me there is an ODBC error "too many fields defined". it worked
yesterday, but i don't know how to correct the error, or even what it means.

I would try naming the range you want import as Database and make it the
only sheet in the workbook, map the fields and select the range name
database as you import
