I am attempting to link tables from SQL 2K using ODBC (MDAC 2.6 SP2);
I have created a SQL login that can SELECT from the 5 tables I want to
use in Access.
The tables do not appear in the list I can link from, UNLESS I give
PUBLIC access to those 5 tables. It is as though it is ignoring the
username and password I am providing in the DSN file.
This does not happen when I use the same file DSN in other MS apps,
such as Visual FoxPro, only in Access. It also does not happen when I
use this login in Query Analyzer, so I know the login and SQL
permissions are fine.
I do not want the tables to be public, I want only this particular
login to be able to SELECT from them.
