ODBC registration error

Hi all...have a weird one. Installing Office Xp on an HP
system. Getting the error that it cannot conect to the
ODBC drivers. When I check the ODBC manager, there are
no drivers listed. If I exploer the windows system
directory..the .dll files are there. I tried registering
them, but they error out.

How can I get the odbc drivers registered soI can install
Office???

Any help is greatly appreciated
