I'm not sure if I should post this in Word, Access or Excel so I'm starting
here. I'm using Office 2003.
I have an Access .mdb in which I run a macro that ouputs the data to an .xls
file. I then have a Word document in which I take the output and mail merge
it into a document. When I select my data source, .odc I'm getting "This
data source contains no visible data." In the "Select Data Source" if I go
to Tools ... MSQuery ... I can then open my data source. However, my user
would like fewer steps.
In my Access macro, I took my macro #1 and copied to macro #2. Macro #1
runs and gives me an odc file name "ABC 'qrymacro1$'.odc". However, when I
run macro #2 it give me "ABC.odc" why the difference in the naming
convention. Also, when I look at the files macro #1 icon is different from
macro #2. Why? I'm not sure how to discribe the difference, except one
looks it has a tiny file list (looks similar to the file list icon in Access)
in the upper left hand corner and the other one has a tiny yellow cylinder in
the upper left hand corner.
We used article 286891 to figure out the MSQuery and we also used article
918295.
If someone could point me in the right direction, any help would be
appreciated.
