Odd Meeting Cancellation Behavior

Hello - I have a high-profile user who has noticed an outlook behavior change
in what happens when cancelling an instance of a recurring meeting. His
machine is currently running XPSP2 with Office 2003 SP2 + several critical
patches. The behavior below does not happen for machines on Office 2003 SP3.

1. Create a recurring meeting between 2 or more people. Take default
settings except change recurrence to daily.
2. Send the meeting request and wait for acceptance from the other person.
3. From the calendar, right-click on the meeting and choose delete.
4. The first prompt is: Do you want to delete this occurrence, or the
entire series. Choose this occurrence.
5. The second prompt is: Delete and send a response to the meeting
organizer, or delete without sending a response.
6. Then the third prompt is the object opens up with the send button.
Click on the send button. This is where the "Do you want to save changes?"
box pops up.

I need to at least give an answer as to why this changed. I'm thinking it
could be a patch, or update, but haven't been able to narrow it down to
anything.

Ideas?
Thanks
