Odd placement of signature block

I prefer not to automatically add my signature block to internal eMail,
replies and forwards. However, I will occasionally do so for replies and
forwards that go outside my company. I do this by choosing one of my
signatures with the signature icon drop triangle.

Annoyingly, the signature block gets inserted seemingly at random at any
break in the text rather than at the bottom or where-ever my cursor happens
to be placed. I then must cut and paste the signature block at the bottom of
the text I have just written.

Is there some marker that dictates where the signature block get written?

How can I assure where the signature block goes?

This happens to me sporadically, especially if the message body has complex
elements (bulleted lists, etc.). I recommend inserting the signature prior
to composing the message.
