OE 6.0 Error messages cannot be deleted and causing problems

I am desperately trying to get some technical support for a problem I've been
having with Outlook Express 6.0. I've browsed through the online help, but
can't seem to find the answer. I've been dealing with this problem for
months but it has recently gotten worse.
I'm receiving the error message below for 5 different emails I have sent
from the same distribution list (over a period of time). It seems that the
error in the email address generates the following error message and the
error messages stay and cannot be deleted. Each time I try to send/receive
an email, the errors pop up and it slows down the email since it is
attempting to send to those addresses in the old error message. I have
corrected those incorrect email addresses in the distribution list, but it
does not eliminate this error message problem each time I send/receive an
email.

"The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'Jane Doe'. Subject 'XYZ',
Account: 'Gail', Server: 'smtp-server.austin.rr.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server
Response: '550 5.1.1 <Jane Doe>... User unknown', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79"

This has been going on for a while and I would greatly appreciate any help
that can be offered by anyone.
Thank you.

For Outlook Express support, you'll want to ask in the
microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general newsgroup.

Since you're also using the web based newsreader rather than outlook
express, you might want to use
http://www.microsoft.com/communitie...px?dg=microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general
(or, since you're using Outlook Express for mail, look at the steps in
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/community/columns/newsgroups101.mspx for
how to set up OE to use the microsoft newsgroup server).

It's just possible the OP is posting from behind a corporate firewall with
Port 119 disabled.....
