As Gordon already pointed out, this feature has nothing to do with your
Outlook Express version and never did. The feature only existed if you
were using Outlook 98 or 2000 in IMO mode. Those and only those versions
of Outlook created a reg hack that would allow the Windows Address Book to
use the Outlook Contacts Folder as its data source.
Accordingly, your Outlook version is the only relevant information. Once
you examine that, you will understand why there is a difference between
your installations.

Hi
Well ...... here is my situation:
On my PC that runs the same OE as my lap top, (6.00.2900.5512 -- xpsp
080414-2105), when I click on Addresses in OE, then Tools, then I find,
Accounts, Options & Action, clicking on Option find a selection: a.
Share
among MS Outlook and other Address book will be stored in MS Outlook and
b. Don't share.......
So my PC works and shares, and I can synch it with my Treo, but my laptop
OE
will not synch the addresses from my Treo because (but will with
Outlook):
On my laptop that runs the same OE version, clicking on Addressed in OE,
then Tools, I do not see Options, only Accounts, Action & Synchronize
now.
Thus I cannot make the setting.
So for some reason I have a inconsistency in the same version of OE
release.
Do I have some other setting set wrong?
Thanks
Don S.
