OEM Office?

Don't know about you guys, but I've never heard of a Mac Office OEM
package. Have you? Anyways, http://www.megamacs.com/v1/vt.php seems to
be selling them, but claim they are sold out right now. You have to
question the legitimacy of "OEM" outlets.

Hi Walt,
You have to
question the legitimacy of "OEM" outlets.

I've never heard of the OEM CDs. I know some large corporations and
universities have access to a "special" version of Office with a
universal serial number, but you shouldn't be able to by either in a
store like that...

Hi,

Apple is including a test drive of Microsoft Office on some computers it
delivers.

Microsoft has made deals with other companies and has provided office as
part of Original Equipment Manufacturing, which in Macintosh land would
mean that if there were any OEM copies they probably would have been
installed by Apple computer, not a third party. In the past Apple has
made special arrangements with certain companies to provide special OEM
packages - notably for people with disabilities.

In any event, OEM packages would never be sold directly to the public.

If you think you have found a rip-off being perpetrated here's what to
do about it:
