Oepning Documents

When I double click on a word document, to open it, word opens and gives me a
message that says " Windows cannot find 'L:\Users\xxxx\xxxxx\ Make sure you
typed the name correctly, and then try again"
The "xxx" represent the file path name where I have the document
stored(which is my data hard drive). I have tried moving the file to desktop
and still does not work, I used to be able to do this just fine and now have
this problem, I don't have this problem with excel files.
Any suggestions or help would be appreciated

It could be your file associations need to be recreated. For this go to
Start/Run and run the following command:

winword /r

Note the space before the forward slash. Also note Word will not actually
start -- you might see the hourglass or the Windows Installer. What you see
depends on the version of Word you are using.

Have you tried repairing? To do this, you can use the Change option in
Programs and Features, or you can use the Diagnose button in Word.

In Programs and Features, click on Office, then click on Change - Repair -
Continue.

Or, in Word... Office button - Word Options - Resources tab - Diagnose.
