Ofc97SBE\SR2 & FP2002

Running Ofc97SBE\SR2 on a P2\266 with Win98SE.

Running FP2002 as a standalone on that same puter
for well over a year, and (so far) no probs.

The FP installation is as it came from the box.

I go to Office Update, Office Update sees the FP,
recognizes it as an OfficeXP product, and says I need
updates (OfcXP\SR1, Security Updates, Etc).

Question! If I go ahead with those updates, what affect
(if any) might it have on that Ofc97 installation?........Izzy

It wont have any effect except on potentially shared dlls such as graphics
and text filters. O97 should still run fine even after the updates.

Thanks for the quick response, and I hope you
don't mind a follow-up question. My computer
skills leave much to be desired. I know enough
break the thing, but not enough to fix it.

Ed:

The effects would be that if there's an updated dll for those filters
released with later versions then it will overwrite the older dll; which
hasn't impacted negatively on any machine that I've ever used with multiple
version installs; the older apps just use the newer dlls. (I've got
machines with portions of different versions of office from version 4
through 2003 on them.)
