Off 2007 Ult - Recovery when Automatic Recovery didn't open?

I have Office 2007 Ultimate. I've had the Recovery work correctly before,
but this time, no documents are coming up at all.

I lost 1 Excel & 2 Word Documents...

None of the procedures for finding the documents seem to be working with
Office 2007... I'm running Vista Ultimate as the operating system.

How do I find what my Recovery Settings are - I'm wondering if they changed,
but I don't see anything that looks like what they were in 2003...

When I try the recommended method to display the recovered files, that are
not showing in the Recovery Window (no Recovery Window opens), which is
trying to open files: %userprofile%\AppData\Microsoft\Excel\*.xlsb

I get a message that the path doesn't exist...

If for some reason, I've lost these documents -- would be a first since
using Office 2007 --, could someone help me check to make sure I have the
correct Recovery Settings?
