Off page reference does not fully bind

After some deletion and add-in for the page in MS Visio 2003. The off Page
reference seems like goes wrong. Re-insert the off page reference does not
help as well. If right click on the off page icon and click on "Off-Page
Refernce" then I'm able to link to the page.
Please help on this issue.

Two possibilities come to mind:

1) you aren't double-clicking the icon, unlike other MS products, with Viso
the default behavior for off-page references is double-click, not
single-click, since the latter selects the object.

2) The object isn't really an off-page reference. It may be simply an object
with a hyperlink.

Hope that helps

Hi Laserray,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Here are the steps to reproduce the issue.

Step :
1. Create 3 pages and rename it as abc-1, abc-2 and abc-3.
2. Every pages has the off-page reference where abc-1 -> abc-2 -> abc-3 and
abc-3 -> abc-1.
3. Add-in a new page where it should be in between abc-1 and abc-2. Hence, I
need to rename abc-3 to abc-4. Then abc-2 to abc-3.
4. Then rename the new page as abc-2.
5. Delete the link (abc-1 -> abc-2 in previous).
6. Add-in a new off-page reference, for abc-1 -> abc-2 (new page).
7. Double click on the off-page reference in abc-1. (Problem)

Observed result:
- It does not link to abc-2. But abc-2 is able to link back to abc-1.

Expected result:
- abc-1 should able to link to abc-2.

Additional Info :
- Using Ms Visio 2003
- OS : Windows XP
- Reproducibility : Yes.
- Re-create the off-page reference still does not help.

Pls revert to me if there is any doubt.

Thanks.

Interesting excercise. I couldn't tell you why it does that.

The solution is to rename the inserted page AFTER inserting the new off-page
reference, that gives Visio a chance to figure out what the address on the
hyperlink should be.
