Off Topic - SQL Server 2005 Express Edition

Sorry for being off topic, at least partly. Ever since I installed Office
2007 Professional on my computer, I keep getting notices to update SQL
Server 2005 Express Edition.

What is it, and why do I need it? I assume it's related to O2007?
