Off2000 Prem Photodraw + XP Home ?

I have a system with Offfice 2000 Premium + all OfficeUpdate fixes(9/16)
installed on XP Home + all WindowsUpdate XP fixes(9/16). Photodraw aborts
with an error before it starts when selected from "Programs". All other
Off2000 stuff seems to work normally. What gives?

It always helps if you report the exact error message. Have you tried
detect and repair?

The error(standard abort/failure dialog) occurs between the click in
start-programs and before the first Photodraw stuff displays. Where in this
sequence is "detect and repair"? The system is not immediately available to
me. I'm trying to get a headstart before it is in front of me.

Hi Root,

When Office 2000 SR1 came out as a replacement
CD set Photodraw 2000 V2-sr1, an updated version
was included. It runs on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
Photodraw 2000 V1 does run on XP Home, but see
if it's an issue of being an Administrator/Owner login
for that version.

The revised Photodraw 2000 V2 wasn't available as
a download.

http://www.microsoft.com/office/previous/photodraw/default.asp

as you can see at the above site, photodraw has been discontinued.
i remember when they came out with version 2 microsoft offered a
100% rebate (up to $100, i think) if you had purchased version 1
within the prior year or something like that. that's how i got it.

i still use it. how badly would you like a burned copy? ;)

oh, btw, i also have the installation cd for microsoft liquid
motion, another discontinued product that was pretty cool. ms seems
to abandon the best products. :(

Hi Root,

MS may still have some Office 2000 SR1 Premium
Edition CDs or the slightly lower build MS Photodraw 2000 v2
CDs available. You'd need to phone MS through the
numbers on http://microsoft.com/worldwide
(800-360-7561 in the U.S.)

As far as see if you have a permissions issue
log in as administrator and see if you can run
MS Office Photodraw 2000 and check the PhotoDrw.exe file
to see what the date and version number is in
properties. Photodraw 2000 v2 will be 2.0.xxx

I have the same problem. I have Photodraw 1.x and I know I have full administrative access to my system. Someone said 1.x would work on XP home and for me it doesn't. Funny this is, it did work for over a year and just stopped for no apparent reason. Any help would be great. (maybe it was a xp update i downloaded. hmm....)
