OFF2000 SP-3: "The File is Not a Valid Installation Package" Error Message

I'm receiving the error identified in knowledge base
article 810815. I have never had Microsoft Works Suite
2000 on my computer. As a result, I'm not prepared to
uninstall the entire Microsoft Office 2000 Premium Suite.
What else can be done to remedy this problem. I'd like to
update to SP3.
