Off2000 sp1a admin install

I am trying to update my installation of office2000 toSP1a and then Of 2k
sp3 .however I am having difficulty applying the SR1a patch to the admin
install point. I have followed the KB301465 to the letter. using the format
msiexec /a admin path\MSI file /p c:\adminupdate\MSP file SHORTNAMES=1.I
keep on getting a windows installer message "Incorrect command line
parameters"
This is driving me round the bend ,has anyone had this mesasage whilst doing
the performing the update ?

Hi Jide,

In the commandline are you replacing the sample text
with the file path and file names that apply to your
Office admin point?

Yes, I am replacing the file & path names to point to my admin install
point
