offer a check for version and updates already installed

Hello --

On a page such as

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/CD010798601033.aspx?iStartAt=31

offer to scan user's system and advise what updates, service packs, etc. are
already installed, and show only those that are relevant as an update.

Doing so, the update search could then not display, fo example) updates
relating to a language (e.g., Dutch, French) that is not the language of the
app installed on the user's system.
This would save users a lot of time scrolling through updates which are not
relevant to the installed app to be updated.

Hi L.,

The updates offered are based on the installed version and product, rather
than on the currently in use feature set. For example, the French proofing
tools update is offered because French proofing tools are included in the
English language editions of Office 2003. You can use the MS Update service
(http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx to turn off
updates you don't want to be offered again.

Hi Bob --

Thanks for explaining the "turn off" option available in the Update service.
