Office 04 font problem

K

kgregory

Hi, have recently upgraded to a Powerbook running Tiger with Office
2004. Am now having touble with the Mrs Eaves font in Powerpoint.
Attempted edits do not show on the screen, however, if I move the file
over to another system with Powerpoint X (running Panther) the edits
are seen.

Any thoughts on this? Do we need a new version of the font? Are there
other font issues with Office X or Tiger?

thanks, kevin

Someone else reported this:
d/369281fe93770d2c/7a6ee4ce6d4f17d4>
But there didn't seem to be any type of a resolution...

I haven't a clue. There are font issues in Tiger but they have to do with
the font cache and incorrect reports of corruption, not (so far as I know)
incorrect display of fonts. It's not clear whether this particular issue
more related to Tiger or Office 2004 anyhow.

Hi Kevin,

Is the following correct :
you have some text in PPT with font "Mrs Eaves " . (Office 11.2 and tiger)
you edit the text
Change is not seen (are there some characters missing or whole sentences)
save the file
Open on another machine with office 10 and panther and everything shows up

if the above is correct can you please let me know :

1. Does this happen only in PPT or in other apps also
2. Does the second machine on which everything seems fine have the font "Mrs
Eaves " installed (it is possible that the font is not available and is
being substituted)
3. if only some characters are missing that would imply that the font does
not have those glyphs and the other machine either does not have that font
or has some other version of the font that has those glyphs.
4. Did it work before you upgraded to tiger (office 2004 and panther)
5. If you select the text and change the font , do the edits show up on the
problem machine?

If you can send me the file you were working on and the font in
mail([email protected]) I will try to investigate this issue.
all data received from you will be used only for investigation and I will
delete it afterwards .
Thanks,
Priyanka
