Office 07 Dictionary file not included

I recently bought a book from my college which included a 90 day trial of
Office 07 Pro. I installed it on my home desktop, which is brand new,
running windows XP. I do not have an older version of office to lift a
dictionary file from. Office 07 does not seem to include a .dic file for the
spell checker. Where can I get one?

Okay... Maybe it was. I sat here going through settings while waiting on a
reply with the microsoft office disk in the drive. The only dictionary file
I had was the custom one. I didn't change any language settings or anything,
but suddenly the file appeared. Maybe it decided to install it as per the
"first use" thing? I dunno, but I didn't see any popup that said it was
installing... In any case, it's fixed now, so nevermind.

The .dic files hold your custom word lists. It is not needed for the proofing tools to work correctly, but you can locate it from
inside Word via
Office Button=>Word Options=>Proofing

In Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel, from the Microsoft Office 2007 choice there click on [Change] then be sure that
the proofing tools for the language you want are set to a state of 'Run from my computer'.

If you're referring to proofing in Outlook Express, which is part of Internet Explorer and not MS Office, the new Office proofing
tools are not supported in Outlook Express by the choice of the IE/OE team, but there are 3rd party alternatives, which have been
used for years by folks who have not had an Office version running on their comptuer.

A. Vampirefo Spellchecker for Outlook Express:

B. Tinyspell: (has separate U.K. English module if needed)
