Office 07 Pro: OneNote Not Included -- AddOn Pricing..?

C

Chester

When I purchased Office 2007 Pro, I didn't realize OneNote wasn't part of
the suite. I've found it for purchase between $80-$100. Does anyone know
if it's available for purchase at a lower price if you already own a version
of Office07? Couldn't find anything myself, am hoping I missed it and
someone here knows -- thanks!

If it at any point was part of Office XP Pro, then yes, otherwise no as I
didn't purchase it individually. The pricing is a little steep, maybe there
will be a promotion at some point and I can pick it up for less. Thanks

It was never part of Office XP. So you'd have to pay the full price for
OneNote 2007.

This seems like a glaring omission by Microsoft. At least in my
opinion. I don't understand their reasoning in the makeup of the
various Office packages. I purchased OneNote 2007 as a stand-alone
program and I am using it with Office 2003 Professional. Though I
have owned the Professional version of all Microsoft Office products
in the past, I have not yet upgraded to Office 2007. As a personal
user -- Office is only used on my PC at home since I am disabled and
cannot work -- the upgrade pricing for Office 2007 is simply beyond my
means. Especially when you consider that upgrading to the
Professional version would have still required that I purchase OneNote
2007 separately.

Perhaps Microsoft will offer some special promotions in the future
allowing users to “mix and match†their needed Office applications.
That would be the best scenario I can think of.

Jim --

Do you by any chance qualify for an educational price? That might
save you some money on your Office products.
