Office 2000 Admin setup

Can anyone help with this.

I've created an admin installation of Office2K disks 1 + 2
patched to SP3. I've also created an office profile and
custom setup file - within the setup file I've specified
within the 'Add Installations and Run Programs' to chain
cd2.

For some reason cd1 installs fully patched which is great,
but cd2 doesn't run at all (at least it doesn't appear to).

Is it possible to run the admin setup in this way or do I
have to run the initial admin setup from the original cds
and then add the patches.

Any help/ideas would be very much appreciated.

Hi Lee,

Did you create separate admin points for CD#1 and
CD#2? It sounds like that's the case (it doesn't
work with a 'combined' one).

If so, are you using the 'enhanced' setup.exe program?

Hi Bob,
Yes the admin points are separate. I beleive that the SP3
version of setup.exe either replaced or is the same as the
enhanced version issued with the ORK, so assuming that is
the case, the answer to your question is yes.

The link that you posted contains the instructions that I
ended up turning to - even with these I still can't get
cd2 to install. I'm wondering if this needs an mst file as
well, however I'm sure I've read that if you have one mst
file you don't need another.

I could try with the previous version of setup.exe, but
there is now reason for me to believe that this would work.
Lee.
