Office 2000 and Outlook 2003

We currently are installing the full version of Office
2000 Pro onto our Windows 2000 PCs then we install Outlook
2003 as an upgrade. We then go back into Outlook 2003
setup and install all the features.

We then get a problem with Office Assistant. When Outlook
2003 is open and the assistant is loaded, once we open up
Word or Excel 2000 we get an error message about repairing
the assistant.

If we close all programs and only open up Office 2000 the
assistant is fine.

Does anyone know how we can solve this problem of the
assistant compatibility

Hi Beth,

The version of Outlook we are using is "Microsoft Office
Outlook 2003 (11.5608.5703)" and as far as I know its the
full version.

Thanks

Hi Lewis,

It appears there is still a problem with the Office Assistant when
multiple versions of Office are installed. I thought these were all
caught during the beta but I was able to reproduce the issue here too.

Unfortunately the only advice I have at this time is to not use the
Office Assistant. :-(

I do know Microsoft is aware of the error so hopefully it will be
rectified at some point.

have you actually been able to get 'send to mail recipient' working with
this config? We can't and same config, office 2000 on Windows 2000 with
Outlook 2003. Even when we tried ditching office 2000 on these systems and
moving everything to office 2003 still no worky. Even clean loads of Win2000
and Office2003 work only sometimes.

Office 2003 backwards compatibility royally sucks.
